Rick Alan Hagen

March 14, 1953 – August 21, 2022

Rick passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 21st at age 69.

He was born in Iowa City, IA and enlisted in the United States Army at age 17 in 1970 where he became a Prime Power Production Specialist. He retired from the Army in 1990 and entered the civilian workforce. He loved music and played bass guitar, guitar and mandolin in several bands throughout his life. He was an Life member Cary VFW Post 7383, a member of American Legion Post 116, and loved riding his motorcycle with the American Legion Riders and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 15-6.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Carmack and brothers James and Charles Hagen. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Chung S. Hagen, children Aaron Hagen (Kristen) of Garner NC and Jennifer Janis (Michael) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Jacob, Ethan, Nicholas, Luna, William, Eyre, and Charlotte as well as sisters Barb O'Donnell (Phil), LeeAnn Webb (Pat), and Jeanette Hedlund (Jeff).

A memorial service will be held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC on Friday September 23rd at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Veterans charity of your choosing.
